
This is an easy to tie easy to fish all round wet fly which can be fished with a floating, intermediate or sinking line using a slow or fast retrieve. John Hunter of the Village Angler has caught many a trout on it in the nearby Dullstroom dams using an intermediate line.
Materials:
Hook – Grip Nymph & Streamer #10
Bead – Silver
Thread – Olive
Tail – Olive marabou, Crystal Flash and Black Marabou over
Body – Black and Olive Cactus Chenille (Fritz) twisted
Step 1. Thread silver bead on hook
Step 2. Run thread in touching turns to a ¼ inch from hook bend.
Step 3. Tie in a bunch of olive marabou.
Step 4. Tie in crystal flash and then black marabou over.
Step 5. Cut two equal lenghs of fritz. Black and olive then twist them together. Run fritz towards bead to form the body.
Step 6. Tie off and varnish to finish.
